Is Host by Stephenie Meyer ...?

The Host is phenomenal but not as good as the twilight series.

It is about an invasion of earth by an alien species. These "souls" come and take over human bodies. They are inserted in their bodies through the neck so it does involve surgery but Stephenie doesn't give details so if you are grossed out then it's ok. Also the souls (or aliens) look like silver slimy caterpillars (but i think they are a tiny bit bigger than catterpillars). There is this soul called Wanderer and she is given the mission to enter Melanie Stryder's body and Wanda (her nickname) thinks this will be easy because she has been to other planets before (i told you their kinda like aliens) but her friends tell her it will not be easy because humans have really strong emotions. So Wanda enters Melanie's body but Melanie refuses to leave her body. Melanie stays in her mind. It's kinda like when you feel guilty there's always that guilt in the back of your mind well Melanie is always in the back of her mind. But Melanie can talk to her too. And Melanie can show Wanda (the soul) her emotions. So whatever Melanie felt before her body got invaded by Wanda, Wanda feels it now. And when Wanda starts feeling the love that Melanie felt towards Jared and her brother it leads into an awesome adventure so she can find both her brother and her love Jared. It makes Wanda look for them in the caves where her uncle has a hiding place for humans that have not been invaded. Jared the love of Melanies life also lives there and consequently Wanderer, who loves him too, decides to go. It is her quest for acceptance in the caves where she is so unwelcome that makes this book so amazing

Its a really good story. I would definitely reccommend it to people.

I've read the Host and the Twilight series, and I loved both =D The Host is a lot different from Twilight, and it's basically a science fiction book, about aliens invading the world. There are a few humans left in the world and are hiding in the Arizona mountains. The main character Melanie Stryder, is an alien, and she's amoung humans, so it's really hard to live with them. There is a limited food supplies, very hard living conditions, and people that hate her. That's all I can tell you lol XD Hope you like the book!

Yes.The Host is about how 'aliens' take over earth and they are put inside a human and they call the humans their Host. There are two ways to tell if a human has a host in them. 1) they have a silver ring around the pupil on their eye and 2) they have a scar on the back of the neck where they were inserted into their hosts.

The book is from theis one aliens's point of view. (her name is Wanderer/ Wanda) She wanted to be put into an odder host instead of a younger one. So she gets put into this host and the host won't go away like all the other host's.(The host's name is Melenie) She stays there and talks to the alien and stuff. Melenie lets Wanda see her memorys. There were memories of her love and her little brother and how they are hiding from the aliens. Then the alien and the Host become friends and the Human Host leads her to a group of humans.

The Humans are hiding from the aliens so that way the won't become like everyone else. They are hiding in a desert in Arizona. When Wanda comes to the humans they want to kill her but she just wants to stay there and live with them because she too loves the Host's little brother. They let her live there and some people like her and trust her but others don't.

Hated the Twilight books, but The Host was, suprisingly, really good. It could have been better if she didn't right so much, though, it didn't need to be that long.

The beginning starts out very slow (the first 80 pages or so), but then its really good. The story is really about humanity and compassion for those different than yourself. I liked the book a lot because my perception of characters changed as I moved through the book.

I like it...but DEFINITELY not as much as Twilight

It's sci fi...a new generation where this civilization has taken over the brains of humans..the humans just seem to dissapear eventually..but Mel stays in Wanderers head...and Wand and Mel love the same man

It's really good! I read it. its pretty hard to explain, there are souls(have no body, like a mind) and humans. the souls took over the humans, and use their bodys. then one soul gets a human-but the girl is strong and her mind doesnt fade away. they escape to a hideaway of many humans, but the humans hate her and its about her there and the struggles, and how they accept her, and how the human and her can survive and thats really all i can explain you should read it tho, sounds weird, but awesome book

It's better than the Twilight series, I hear, but like all of SMeyer's books, it dragged on and there is little character development.

to be honest i was completely dissapointed, it was so dull everything was inside a stupid cave. BORING very BORING
