If I had to choose between the two I would pick the Roland. I don't like the sound of Line 6, too digital and the fx aren't configurable enough for me.

I imagine that your price range is around 100$, right? Below are a few links to what I consider to be better amplifiers, ones that I would choose instead if I were in your shoes.

The first option is the cheapest tube amp combo on the market. It's the basis for a great sound, although it has no onboard digital fx. Reviews have been mixed on it, I suspect that the speaker isn't so hot, but I would at least urge you to practice on it first before picking something else. At least you'll know if you don't like it or not. =)

The second is a Peavey, and has had some good reviews. Has more volume and as much versatility in channels, at least, as the two you are looking at, although again, not a lot in terms of onboard dfx. Usually more watts = better sound, too.

The third is a Kustom, and I've played through it - it has superb tone. Very rock, although it helps to swap out the tube for something better.

The fourth is a Marshall. You know what you're getting there - a good brand, a good rock sound, decent cleans. It's a bit higher in terms of price, partly because of the brand.

The fifth is a Randall, and definitely one of the ones I would urge you to try out first before you buy - I have a lot of respect for Randall, they've put out some very good tones, and this is one of the higher watt ratings at this size that you're going to get.

Basically all I'm saying is that unless you're uber bent on getting onboard fx, you've got a lot of options, and most of them will have at least as good as tone than the Roland, and all of them will sound better than the Line 6. Then again, if you can't hear the difference....

    Either way, good luck!

in case you do no longer choose a ton of ability the Orange Tiny Terror is notably amazing. I picked up the pinnacle and a PPC112 cab for around $one thousand. that's a great amp for domicile or recording, yet being a single channel amp it might desire to no longer be what you elect for stay performances. there is likewise the twin Terror that's a 2 channel head. maximum of my acquaintances have very extreme end amps, Marshall Plexi's, Carr, hand under pressure out VOX, classic Fender's, etc. and the Orange is the ideal sounding of the bunch to me. I have been given grew to become directly to Orange after starting to be a Queens Of The Stone Age fan and fairly loving Josh's tone.
