Hey I'm buying an unlocked phone over the internet, and i have to pay with a western union moneytransfer. I'm wondering if this is a safe thing to do, or avoid it completely? Have you used this before was it good, bad? Do you know anybody has been scammed by this before? Please get back to me with any answers, thanks alot.

Sounds like a scam. Most reputable companies do not use Western Union. They will probably take your money and run. See the link below.

Personally, I would not be comfortable using a Western Union transfer. I would feel better with a Paypal account transfer since there is some recourse for the buyer and seller. I don't know about Western Union. You might give Western Union a call to see if you would have some recourse with them should there be a problem.

Whenever you see a seller asking for a Western Union payment, run the other direction. Dateline NBC ran a tv show about the scammers and followed them as they picked up the money transfers. You are about to get cheated. Never pay a stranger unless you walk away with the item in your hand and you have verified that it is working..

Western Union will charge a large fee. It is safe that your money will get there, but there is no way for you to get your money back if you don't like the phone. Pay Pal is much better.
