Best Webcam Program for long distance chats.?
Here's the deal. I need a program (rather than Windows Live Messenger) that specializes in webcam to webcam chat.. I'm in the UK and the rest of my family are in NZ and I'm hoping to speak to them at the New Year...
With this software would I need to buy it, subscribe, pay for it, where can I get it....
Is it easy to use?
I'll add any additional details if needed.

There are two good programs that I know of, and both are free. Skype is good, but you can't conference call, only one on one. Oovoo is another, really good for conference calls. I recommend both. Both are free, and all you need to do is register for a screen name on there, which takes minutes, if that. Both are for mac and windows. Also, make sure you have a good webcam, not a cheap one. You will regret buying a cheap one!

First of all, the quality of a webcam is not going to improve your internet connection. That is the most important aspect of webcam chatting/viewing.
Completely stop anyother program that connects to the internet prior to initiating a web cam chat.
Also, a webcam should be able to operate at 800x600 resolution for very good viewing. You aren't using it to take high quality pictures so that is a good res.
