Wild-Card explanation?

I'm a little new to the whole football game so I don't quite understand how the playoffs work, specially with who advances in the wild card game. I looked at the schedule and it's the 4th against 5th and 3rd against 6th. So My question is what are the possible scenarios? If Colts and Miami win who plays the Titans and the Steelers? And if Atlanta and Minnesota win who will play the Giants and Carolina? (Those are the teams I think will win by the way)

The Titans will always have the lowest seed, along with home field advantage. These are a few of the perks for having the best record in the conference. If the Colts win (5th seed) they will face the Titans (1st seed). If the Dolphins win (3rd seed) they will face the Steelers (2nd seed). Same thing in the NFC. Hope this helps!!!

Btw-It won't happen that way, the Ravens are going to skin the Dolphins alive. Then the Ravens (6th seed) will face the Titans (1st seed) and the Steelers will face the winner of the Chargers/Colts game.

the first and second seeds recieve a bye for the first round. the 3rd seed plays the 6th because the best plays the worst in the first round. that leaves the 4th and 6th seeds to play. if the 6th seeds wins against the 3rd seed then in the next round the 1st will play the 6th. remember the best seed remaining always plays the worst seed remaining. if the colts and miami win, the colts will be playing the titans (since they are the worst remaining seed) and miami will play the steelers. if Atlanta and minnesota win, then atlanta will be playing the giants and Minnisota will be playing the panthers.

The divisional playoffs (2nd round) depends on who wins the wild-card round.

The 1 seed will play the lowest remaining seed left after the wild card game.

The 2 seed plays the higher remaining seed after the wild-card game.

If the Colts and Miami win, it will be Indianapolis @ Tennessee and Miami @ Pittsburgh.

However, if Baltimore and Indianapolis win, it will be Baltimore @ Tennessee and Indianapolis @ Pittsburgh

If Atlanta and Minnesota win, it will be Atlanta @ NY Giants and Minnesota @ Carolina.

the 1 seed plays the lowest remaining seed, ie the 4th, 5th or 6th.

the 2 seed plays the highest remaining seed, ie the 3rd, 4th or 5th.

if miami wins, it plays at pittsburgh

if minnesota wins, it plays at carolina

it all depends on who wins.

if the 3 seed wins, they play the 2 seed and the 1 seed plays the winner of the 4/5 matchup.

if the 3 seed losses, the 6 seed plays the 1 seed, and the 2 seed plays the winner of the 4/5 matchup.

everything always boils down to the 3/6 matchup

Take the two teams thats win in the first round of the playoffs. Look at their seed, the highest seed coming out of round one will play the lowest seed in round two. So to continue your scenario....

    AFC

    3. Colts vs. 2. Steelers

    5. Dolphins vs. 1. Titans

    NFC

I can't remember whos seeded higher Vikings or Atlanta.... but who ever is seeded higher plays the Panthers

In each conference, the lowest remaining seed from this coming weekend will play the #1 seed (NY Giants in the NFC and Tennesseee in the AFC). The other winner in each conference from this weekend will play the #2 seed (Carolina in the NFC and Pittsburgh in the AFC).

Basically, the way it works is, the #1 seed draws the lowest-ranked survivor from the first round of the playoffs.
