68 Chevelle not starting ?
Ok, so the engine flooded, then the battery completely died and I took it to the auto place and put it on the slow charger. Using jumper cables on another car wouldn't do it. When I put the battery back in, it is obviously charged, but the car won't turn over now! It acts like it wants to, but just won't. I put gas in it to make sure it wasn't that. I don't have that much money and I don't really know anybody that can come look at it, but I love this car and I miss driving it. I don't think it is anything major, but maybe somebody can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

its probably carbed..
check the choke on carb, make sure its wide open
check the ignition coil, clean your distributor, rotor and clean your plugs..
happened to my mustang all the time..
clean your fuel pump, and get a new fuel filter
its all easy to do..at most in parts you might pay..around $20

I think your discription of the motor trying to turn over is vague. Is the starter turning the motor over? If you have a fully charged battery, and the starter is not turning the motor over, then replace the starter. If you hear a clicking sound when you try to start it, that would be your solinoid telling you something is wrong. The solinoid is the device that sit on top of your starter and egages your starter motor drive when power is sent to it. If the starter is worn out, it will not turn the motor over no matter how good your battery is.
Does the Chevelle have a 6 cylinder or V8 in it? How many miles are on it.?

It could have been just flooded the first time. But when you drained the battery the connections on the battery or the cables could have got burned/corroded. If you take your cables off your battery, and see any black or odd color to them clean and try to start again.

I'm guessing the battery died because you kept trying to crank it? Sounds like you fouled the plugs when it was flooded-either replace them or take them out and clean them if you can.

The engine flooded with what? But anyway change your spark plugs your dist. cap and rotor and put some gas in the carb and it should turn on. Interest in selling it?

Remove all the spark plugs and clean them. Then try to spin the motor.
You may have fluid in the cylinders.
