My wall-mounted TV has HDMI cable coming through wall but no coax. Can I hook TV to antenna without coax?
The installers did not run a coax cable through the wall and now I want to cancel my cable and use an antenna instead. Is there a way to connect my TV to an antenna without hiring someone to take the TV off the wall and run a new coax cable?

You would need an external digital TV tuner that has an HDMI output. There aren't a lot of choices. The two I know of are:
- Samsung DTB-H260F external tuner, about $160
- The TiVo HD unit, which has dual digital tuners. Its about $250 new, but TiVo has refurbished ones for $180. I just bought one and am very happy with it. However, it does have a monthly subscription price of $13.
It doesn't seem like it would be that expensive to have someone thread a coax line up the wall. Probably cheaper than either of the two above options.

Does this room have carpet or hard surface flooring? Properly installed baseboard is install 1/2" above the sub-floor. This allows the carpet to be tucked under the base board for a clean fit. There should be plenty of room to push the coax cable under the baseboard. If the room has a hard surface you will need to take the advise of some of the another responders and tack the coax in place along the baseboard. You might think about going around the room the other direction to avoid the door!
