Is it true that Brett is retiring again?
I was watching the Jets game and I thought they said he is probably going to retire after this season. Can someone, anyone please explain to me what is wrong with Brett? Is he lacking attention? Why would he continue to do this year after year?

Where have you been the last two seasons? He's retiring today, in a couple months he will meet with the Jets to talk about still playing, then depending on how the Jets baby him will decide if he's going to play or not. lol I actually like Favre as a player, but this I'm retired, no I'm not, why won't you make me the started if I decide to play crap is getting old. Think about the decision, make one and stick with it. If you don't like your decision, go on the free agent market and take what that means. Probably being a backup, unless it's the Lions that gets your contract. lol

No, he's not retiring. Just read what the note says: he's saying that the surgery is minor and he might not even need it if he wants to play. Anyone who knows Favre's personality (which is just about everyone whose watched football in the last 15 years) should be able to figure out that he isn't going to retire. The man is just addicted to football. He has probably been playing the game competitively since he was 5 or 6. It's his life. He can't imagine the thought of September rolling around without playing. A couple of years ago, people started telling him he was old and had to retire. He listened to them at first, but then that addiction to football just pulled him back. That's why he kept changing his mind. But this year, nobody is telling him to retire, and one team has finally made it clear that they absolutely want him back. Unless some sort of Act of God occurs, he will be wearing the purple horned helmet in September. Count on it.

It seems that Brett Farve plays this game year after year in the off-season. Will he or won't he retire? Jets fans is going to endure what Packers fan had to endure at least the previous three season he was in Green Bay. There are good reasons why he is contemplative of retirement. After all, he is 39 year old. He isn't exactly a spring chicken in football years. Especially when he plays that position he plays. He has every right to question his desire to come back another season of off-season workouts, mini-camps and getting hit by 300lb guys who run the 40 in 4-5 seconds flat.
On the other hand, he is putting himself above the game by letting it all play out in the media. Farve is proving himself to be a diva in many ways. He really needs to make a decision soon and stick with it. He flip-flopped last year and his preparation to play this past season lacked thanks to little training camp and no off-season mini-camps to gel with his new team.
What the football world should be concentrating on right now is who is going to win the playoffs and make it to the Super Bowl. Not what Farve's off-season plans are and the Jerry Springer Jones show in Dallas.

Lately he has been bood by Jet fans and Brett may take this as a signal to finally retire. In his prime he was one of the very best but like Mickey Mantle his legacy will lose some of it's flavor by staying around too long. Age and all those beatings he has taken over the years have taken their toll.

You'll find out in August as Brett takes his "whine train" on the road for yet another off season. But NYC isn't Green Bay and the fans were booing him throughout the game on Sunday. This act is not going to play in the Big Apple, but Brett will try to hold the Jets hostage as he again acts like a 5-year-old who is craving attention while with his parents in a mall.

He's having an MRI on his shoulder, which he just recently claimed had been hurting him for a while. He must realize now that he doesn't have what it takes to play for 16 games a season any more. He may use this "injury" as a means to step down gracefully without having to admit that he's got nothing left in the tank. He hopefully realizes he should have stayed retired after last year, and this will be it for good.

At this point, I don't think it really matters what Brett Favre does. As long as the media and public continue to show interest there is always a chance that he will perform his off season soap opera. I just don't know if there are any teams willing to play a part in his drama.

He said he wouldn't take as long to make a decision.
I expect that decision to be made within the next two weeks, actually.
A lot of it rides on the MRI he's FINALLY going to have on his shoulder.
His mind still wants to play, but his body is saying "no."
I think he'll hang it up, but there is a possibility, I think, that, if the Jets should bring in a coach that has ties to Favre, he'll stay for another year or two.

Nobody knows. Except for Brett

It's just a rumor, but I wouldn't be surprised if he retired again - and later pulled off a soap opera about it like this past summer. Hopefully he decides to hang it up for good, because he's getting old and his arm is getting worn out.
