In Spain, along the French border, closer to the Mediterranean,what is the best town worth visiting?

I was in Figueres...nice enough town, though I can't imagine what to do there for more than a couple of days. Cadaqués is a nice town, very photogenic. I wanted to go there, but, well, it got scrapped.

Girona is really pretty, too.

I would actually think many of the towns in that region would be attractive.

But, what makes you think Barcelona is dangerous? All you need do is protect yourself from pickpockets, and not go anywhere too stupid, and you'll surely be fine. If, however, you prefer a small town, choose from those.

Hit the dual carriageway down the costa to Benalmadena, its a purely right force now on the hot autovia, take a good go searching Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Mijas, Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena village(pueblo) and the costa, you'll in no way visit Nerja back, beleive me!

First: In Spain you can't go wrong (put a map on the wall , throw a dart)

Second: Who said Barcelona is dangerous? Just go it is a beautiful city, it will make your heads spin!

Barcelona is not dangerous, I've visited many times by myself and not experienced any problems whatsoever. It's a most beautiful city, and you should not miss it just because of someone elses paranoia.

I will love to go to Barcelona and the idiot that told you that is probably jealous because he/she can't go...
