What is the difference in the mission statement and a strategic plan... can you give me an example???

A mission statement is why the company sees itself existing and their ultimate goal..how they define themselves essentially. Ex: to serve the community by providing excellence in care. A strategic plan is a way in which you can achieve your mission statement. Every company has a strategic plan- for finances, investments, membership, etc. depending on your industry. Its a road map of how you will achieve your goals, with keeping your overall mission in mind.
