I HATE MY ROOMMATE!!! please read?

I feel so sorry for you. I hate people like that. Try putting a small fridge in your room, and put majority of the food in your room. Buy a lock and put it on your bedroom door. Tell him when he pays for half of the bills as well, he can have internet access. Just because he pays rent doesn't mean it covers the cost of living as well. You need to make him pay half of everything, not just rent. Sit him down and tell him that he needs to start paying or he can do without or he can move out. I know you need a roommate, but it might be best to really go on and find another roommate. Until then, make his life a living hell. Put perixide in his shampoo, dip his toothbrush in the toilet. When you know when you are done with something in the fridge, spit in the milk or lick on what ever you can in the fridge that you know he will eat. I know its gross, but you buy it, so you should be able to do what you please with it. Hey, I know people that has done worse things with their food than just lick on it and put it back into the fridge.....LOL...

Act like the bottle of bleach fell off the shelf and landed on his clothes and get bleach all over his stuff. Every time you are in the bathroom make sure you clean the toilet with his toothbrush, I know I have already mentioned that one, but it needs to be done every time you go in there.... Hide all the soap so he will have to buy his own, if he doesn't already. Any little thing that you can think of that would be annoying, do it, and do it on a regular basis. Go get an air horn, and when your alarm clock goes off in the morning, blow the air horn as well, that will wake him up, and do it every morning, he will get really tired of it quick, but then again, you live in an apartment, you might get into trouble. Let him know that when you rented out the room to him, it was on the understanding that he pay half the utilities and buy his own food. The internet does not come into this as he has not paid for any part of it. Change your password immediately and do NOT give it to him. He can cause a lot of problems for you with him having your password, including blocking you completely.

If he refuses to pay extra to cover costs, simply tell him that the costs will need to go up.

If he still refuses, then toss him out. If he is as bad as you say, then he is costing you money, not saving you. If you think he may cause problems, have a friend with you when you do it.

Find another person, preferably a female student like you and stipulate the rules and what is covered by the rent they are paying and what they will need to pay their share. Try to find someone who seems to have the same sort of values as you. It can be hard in a short interview, but good luck.

Do you have access to legal counsel on campus? Many college campuses do have lawyers or legal assistants that can advise you on situations like this. A lot will depend on whose name(s) are on the lease and what agreement was made between you.

Personally, I'd either move (suddenly) or find some way to get him removed. Talk with your landlord and see what ideas they may have.

Change your password immediatey; you don't want him able to access your bank accounts or credit cards. It might be possible to set him up an account in his own name and your files be restricted. Got any friends into computers who could advise you?

Bottom line, he's a mooch. His paying half the rent does not entitle him to free utilities, food, and internet service. He should either be buying all his own or splitting the cost with you.

A good roomate is someone you may be friends with for life, long after college is over. A bad one can be a nightmare.

Start looking for a new roomate in secret. Once you get someone, kindly ask him to leave. And besides if you a college girl its a little creepy for him to be living with you anyway. Id tell him hed either pay up or be ready to ship out.

One of you has to leave. Give us something to go by. Is it an apartment? Is he on the lease or rental agreement? It a house? Is it leased or do one of you own it?

Mix some cyanide into his next beer.
