How big will a german shepherd/golden retriever/lab mix puppy get? ?
We found these puppies last week and have been taking care of them. The mom had been hit by a car so we saw no other course of action. The mom was a golden retriever, so we are positive about that side of the heritage, but the puppies themselves are black and then black & tan like a german shepherd. What I have been wondering most is how big will they get. I really want to keep one, but I already have 2 Great Danes and a hound mutt and might not be able to handle another 100+lbs dog. Help! I am quicking falling in love with them and would hate to have to give them all away.

Depends on how big the parents were. I have a german shepherd/malamute mix and he weighs 70 lbs. There really is now way to tell how big the dog is going to get unless you know how big the parents were. You could probably estimate between 65 and 85 pounds.

Just because they are black and tan, does not mean they are part GSD, they could be mixed with a black and tan mutt.....and there is really no way of knowing how large they will get, because you are not sure of the size of the father...they may hit between 60-80 lbs, again depends what the dad was....

It won't likely get to 100 pounds. I have a female german shepherd black lab mix and she's about 70. The lab is the biggest of the three, and males CAN get to be 100 but if you don't overfeed it, then you won't have too much trouble.
Obviously, though, it's impossible to be sure.

I've got a 3 year old German Shepherd/Lab cross(as far as I can tell - he's a rescue, so there's no knowing for sure). He's 85 pounds, with no fat on him whatsoever.

Good for you for rescuing them! I'd say they'll most likely fall between 60-110 pounds, probably averaging at about 75-80 pounds. I hope they all get loving home...possibly one of those homes will be yours!

it depends on whether the puppies get the german shepard dominate genes or the lab dominate genes, but both dogs can weigh between 65-100 pounds

i would imagine they would get pretty big! mixing those breeds of dogs (some of the biggest) i think the puppies would be big.
