Is there a certain reason people get regular retainers than clear ones that wrap around your teeth. ?

it usually depends on your doctor. mine gave me the clear ones. and they are pretty comfy. sometimes tight tho. and easier to take care of.

ask and they can let u know. other than that, theres no reason people get certain ones. just luck of the draw.

The clear ones that wrap around your teeth are called Invisalign (I think that's how you spell it). Invisalign are a type of braces that you can't see. I think that more people get regular retainers because Invisalign is more expensive. If you really want Invisalign, ask your dentist about it.

I had both a metal and a plastic one, I like the plastic one because they bend or become unshaped like a metal one does, but if you don't clean them they will discolor, but then again metal ones don't discolor and for me were more secure than a plastic one that can sometimes pop out. Also if you go to places like an orthodontist and you ask for a retainer most likely they will ask metal or plastic. they are both easy to use and are comfortable. it's really up to you
