Why doesn't Steve Yong quarterback-coach the 49ers?

    Some great players just don't know how to teach. I'm not saying Steve Young can't teach, but he may be one of those guys. They can easily do it themselves on the field, but it's difficult for them to put what they are thinking and doing into words.

    Yes, great players don't make good coaches.

    Montana wouldn't either since he's not a talkative charismatic guy though 4 rings on his hand and a Meryvns spokesman.

    Well if your gonna get a former 49er qb why dont you get Montana. Then we can get Rice to coach wide receivers. Then get Lott to coach dbs.
