You're caught in a 'boot loop' which sometimes is a low level boot sector problem.

If you've got a couple of years worth of work on the drive, and need to get the data, before you entirely give up on a hard drive look into 'Spinrite' by Gibson Research.

It often fixes many HDD physical problems and /or recovers data.

Google for reviews, or go to:

    http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm

    for further details.

About $89US, and can be used on multiple home systems (PC, Mac, Lin, Tivo) & non-expiring.

"Absolute Satisfaction Guarantee — We stand behind our products proudly and would never want you to regret your purchase. If you are unhappy with anything you purchase from us, for any reason, we will refund your purchase without question."

If you recently installed software, then that could be the problem.

Run your computer in safemode, and run msconfig.

Then go to startup and uncheck everybox in 'startup' that is not Microsoft Corporation.

    Then delete everything in %temp%

A lot of reasons: might be problem with your RAM, might be Windows corruption etc. Try unseating your RAM module or swap them if you have two.
