Hard drive sounds like it's going to take off.?
I've been on my computer for about two hours now and the damn thing wont shut up. I've re-started it and it keeps on running like it's going to take off. Is this a up date or something? The only time I've herd the hard drive run like this is during a scan.

Well, the only thing you should do is to open your PC CASE and see if it s the hard disk or the dvd drive or fans are well connected with your case, if any of these isn't, this is the source of the noise.

Backup the data on your PC if its really important.
to find out whts wrong do a test.
Install this http://hddlife.com/eng/index.html
it will give you an indication of what is wrong with your HDD is it dying due to old age ;)
If you are comfortable using event viewer you will see some logs there which indicate what could be the issue.

Back up all Data and buy a Seagate hard drive before you loose every thing. Back up at least once a week. Have fun.

Sure there isn't a CD in the tray trying to run? HD should not be running like that. May be another issue.

could just be old, or even if it's only a year old or something it could just be starting to go, you'll either have to live with the noise or replace it
