Where is the "L.A. River"?

I know where it is, sorta.

I'm looking more along the lines of the areas of the L.A. River seen in movies like Terminator 2 and Gone in 60 Seconds.

Also, is there any way to get into it?

I am going on a few day trip to SoCal and I would love to take pictures there.

Any help is much appreciated, especially in terms of maps & or directions.

Thanks

the part of the LA River that is used in terminator is the part of the river from just south of the Sepulveda Dam to about Burbank.(more specifically the area where the Tujunga Wash merges wtih the River)

The Gone on 60 seconds part of the river is in Downtown LA between the 110 frwy bridge and the Santa Monica Frwy(I10)( notably the 3rd and 7th street bridges)

The Sepulveda sections arent worth eventrying to get to to take pictures as you cannot get access to them

any bridge over the river in LA(PAsadena Ave, 1st street, 3rd street and 7th street) , you can get good photos.

With the exceptions of the bike paths right along the river, you are not allowed access to the river(it is against the law), and also if you do, you must be aware that it is a place used by gangs and taggers.

Source(s): Do not park on the bridges. Park near either end on a side street and walk up the bridges. if you can get a Thomas Guide of LA county it will give you good detail of the areas im describing http://folar.org/ http://www.lariver.org/big_images/Barham_Blvd_to_F... http://www.lariver.org/big_images/Washington_Blvd_...

it is in inglewood, near the 405 freeway. just go to google maps, and you can get detailed directions from anywhere. good luck, I used to live in SoCal. on a side note you must go to carl's jr. while you are there, they have a hamburger called the western bacon cheeseburger. those things are slammin!!!
