Hi, I am in Tennessee, and my vet charges $25 per coggins test. It may vary a bit from place to place, but if you are traveling with your horse, it is mandatory. The vet draws a little blood and sends it to the lab for testing. If you transport your horse to the vet you can save a trip fee. If the vet comes to your house, he will change you for making the trip. If you are caught transporting a horse without a current coggins, legally, they can confiscate your horse, trailer, and slap you with a heavy fine. Once you get the results of your coggins, and hopefully it is negative, it is good for one year. So if you are transporting your horse to Ohio, please do get the coggins test. And best of luck to you. Hope this answers your question.

the rate for a coggins will vary depending on what the lab your vet sends it to charges, my vet charges about 65 dollars, this is in michigan it costs more to go to canada from us because you also need health papers from the vet saying that shots are up to date and horse is healthy
