What do garbage men do?

I know my city has several different trash companies. I imagine most of them work at least 5 days a week. (I don't think any of them pick up on the weekend) I'm sure they have to take the refuse to a central place for dumping or whatever is done with it. I would guess that most of the routes are long enough that they work a regular 8 hour shift.

5 days a week. they take it to a landfill and throw it on the ground in a big pile and eventully they spray all the trash with a chemical so it doesnt smell and bury it and later will turn that big plot of land into a golf course
