The Shave of Beverly Hills would be a great place for you to go. It's an upscale barbershop that offers hot towel razor shaves, massage, waxing your uni-brow and "fingernail scrub clip n’ clean" in an old fashioned setting.
They charge more for a man's manicure than any place I have gone for a manicure. For once, men have to pay more for vanity then women.

West Hollywood, known for years as a gay-friendly town, would make you comfortable anywhere. But really, I think you should just drop your inhibitions and go. Business is business, and the operators appreciate having you there.
The other day I was in the Eagle Rock Mall, which is now 100% Filipino, and I saw guys having their nails done (hands AND feet), with no apparent problem.
You see, I am speaking as a woman in a male-dominated profession, sometimes you just have to proceed and forget about being uncomfortable. Just go!

If you're a single man, many women find it attractive.
I would give it a try!
