You could try contacting your local Tag Agency and see if they will tell you anything. They might not though. But the car had to have an insurance verification form to get a license plate but that doesn't necessarily mean that they kept up the insurance payments or that the insurance is still valid.
(random bit of unrelated info...
I live in Oklahoma too and my sister in law's last name is Muniz... small world huh) :)

Yep... that is particularly the whole area of the motor vehicle plate, to uniquely become conscious of each motor vehicle, and connect that motor vehicle with an proprietor. So, say there's a (pronounced) stolen vehicle, with a definite motor vehicle plate. If a police officer happens to renounce in the back of that vehicle at a pink easy, and basically happens to decide for to run the plate on his onboard pc device, then that plate huge form gets checked by using a database and because that is pronounced as stolen, that information is pronounced to the officer. who's possibly to attempt to tug the driving force over. And the driving force is possibly to get arrested for possession of stolen assets. they might or won't face quotes in court docket... however the arrest would be made, and contained whilst it comes to a juvenile, possibly remanded to their parent's custody. for the reason that license plates are detachable, there's a extra everlasting device besides, prevalent by using fact the motor vehicle identity huge form, or VIN. it particularly is completely linked to the vehicle, in maximum cases under the windshield on the driving force's area. that is lots longer, even though it has to hold extra information than the plate does.

Get a copy of the police report, if one was made, then take that to dhe DMV. They should be able to tell you name, address and insurance info. (Giving wrong insurance info is perjury in my state!) Without a police report, you likely can't get the info.
