for Clumber spaniel owners?

Are Clumber spaniels prone to submissive or excited urination like cocker spaniels are?

I'm not a Clumber spaniel owner, but I've met my fair share at field trials and do know people who own them. Clumber Spaniels can be difficult to housebreak and some will submissively urinate. Young Clumbers and female Clumbers in particular are more prone to this behavior.

In the breed club website it specifically states under the "ugly" section that this breed is known for submissive urination.

Yep, observed one at a practice. no longer the prettiest of spaniels however. Too short in the leg and too enormous a head for this is length. yet whats up, in case you like them then cool. maximum human beings %. on my Std Poodles.

i don't know... i think cockers are because of their history of inbreeding...

clumbers sure are cute though... like hefty fuzz bunnies

  • I doubt it. The ones I've met were a lot more laid back.
