swordfish help!!!!!!?

can sword fish live the first 2-5 weeks after i have set up my tank?

are they like zebra danios?

    After 2 to 5 weeks your cycle is probably done. I would say you can put them in. I don't like have a fish help the cycle. I like it fishless cycling. Check your waters ph ammonia etc. HOpe I helped!

    They probably should live. Swordtails don't die too easily, but you may want to try to go with zebra danios instead first, then exchange them for some swordtails. But you can also try a fishless cycle, which requires that you "feed" the tank by dropping in some fish food and let it be food for the tank's beneficial bacteria.

    This way, you can cycle a tank without the expense of a fish. After running it for maybe a week or two, you can put the swordtails in with an almost guaranteed success rate.
