Wireless router wont work with full signal,i have vista home premium?

My wireless router has full signal on my laptop,but when i try to connect it say unable to connect to this network,and if i unplug the modem and router and leave the unplugged for a few minuets i can connect to the network for like 5 minuets and then it kicks me off and won't let me connect again.

Update:

i have more to add to this. the first week or so i had the network up i didn't not have this problem it only started doing this last night. it worked fine for a week or so.

    Sounds like your Internet provider is having problems. Have you tried it using the cable and not wireless? You could also have hardware overheating on your computer as well. Hard to tell from here.

    I know that in the information packet it says something about having the original windows program. I know the router can be a pain to set up, but you have to go over those instructions very carefully. Good Luck!

    i had the same problem when i got my macbook.

    i ended up having a defective wireless card.....

    plug an ethernet into your router and plug it into your laptop. if you don't have any problems then it's your wireless card
