Everybody Hurts by R.E.M, but it's one great sad song among many. This song all in all reminds you of the pain that is so great that you think life cant go on, but at the same time you hear it and now it's not only you going through pain, depression, loss, abuse, neglect, etc... (the song can apply to many situations).

My condolences by the way to you.

    ****************************************

When the day is long and the nigh

    the night is yours alone

When you're sure you've had enough of this life

    well hang on

    Don't let yourself go

    everybody cries and everybody hurts

    sometimes

    Sometimes everything is wrong

now its time to sing along

When your day is night alone

    (hold on, hold on)

If you feel like letting go

    (hold on)

When you think you've had too much of this life

    well hang on

    cause everybody hurts

    take comfort in your friends

    Everybody hurts

    don't throw your hand

    oh no

    dont throw your hand

If you feel like youre alone

no, no, no, you are not alone

If youre on your own in this the days and nights are long,

When you think youve had too much of this life

    to hang on

    Everybody hurts, hang on.....hold on.

Source(s): Me. I grew up in the early 90's when suicide was rampant among teens and young people (15-35), and this song was almost an anthem to help people get help before resorting to anything grave.

"One More Day" by Diamond Rio

I have let myself get lost in that moment of , "just one more day I could have with them, it would get me through this hell", then realize that means the goodbye, so it leaves you wishing, still, for one more day. I had such tears in my eyes the first day I heard these guys sing this song. I think all I heard were the voices, barely any music.

Last night I had a crazy dream

A wish was granted just for me

    It could be for anything

    I didn't ask for money

    Or a mansion in malibu

I simply wished, for one more day with you

    Chorus

    One more day

    One more time

One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied

    But then again

I know what it would do

Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

First thing I'd do, is pray for time to crawl

    Then I'd unplug the telephone

    And keep the tv off

    I'd hold you every second

Say a million I love yous

That's what I'd do, with one more day with you

    Chorus

Leave me wishing still, for one more day

Leave me wishing still, for one more day

    Concrete Angel: Martina Mcbride

    Alyssa Lies: Jason Michael Carroll

They are sad to me because they are both about child abuse. If you watch the concrete angel music video it is even more sad.

"Self Conclusion" by The Spill Canvas.

I've kinda been there myself. Suicide and all... it's not fun. The song is more of a comfort than a sadness.

possibly "interior the palms of an angel" however I never teared up on it... that is, although, unhappy to take heed to while you're reminiscing on a lost relatives member or the suffering of others. EDIT: "Mr Fletcher's music" "dropping You" - Randy Newman
