There is a nerve in the face called the Trigeminal Nerve. It sounds like you are having pain from that. I have what's called Trigeminal neuralgia and I have the exact same pain you are talking about but it also happens in my temples, my jaw, the top of my head and behind my ears. I have to take medication to control the pain.(It took a while to diagnose and I was in severe and constant pain, not just in one spot) A few things you can do right now are to take some Advil for the pain and then use a heating pad on it. This should help tremendously. It helps me as soon as I apply the heat. It is very soothing and feels great. I have done some research on it and one cause could come from drinking or eating foods with Aspartame in them. For some reason this is toxic to the nerves. If you drink diet pop or eat foods with this in them try quitting and see if the pain goes away. I will have bouts every now and then but when I stopped drinking diet pop it lessened the frequency that I got the pain. It also just could be pressure on the nerve from you sinuses. Do you have a cold or stuffed up nose. Or do you have allergies? If it gets to the point that you can't stand it, call your doctor or go to the emergency room. You can get a mild pain reliever to help until whatever is going on goes away. But make sure you try the heat as soon as possible, it really will help a lot. I hope you are feeling better soon :)

It sounds like a migraine, which I had many and often during my pregnancies. Mine begin with localized pain, which is the throbbing of the actual veins in the brain. They expand and contract in migraines, causing the pain that then becomes the full blown head ache. I would go to the emergency room if you are frightened at all. They'll check blood pressure, eye dilation, etc to make sure it's not something more serious. If you think you can wait to see your OB, s/he'll let you know if you can take something for it. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
