How difficult is it to disassemble and reassemble an assault rifle ?

How much practice is involved for most folks?

Thanks!

We have m4's in basic its really not that hard. They show you and you will have no problem understanding after two or three time dissasembling your rifle.

for the first one, that would be the SKS in my opinion, it's a Russian design, they were all easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble so even a conscript army could do it with little training. accuracy isn't the weapon, it's the shooter, if the shooters a bad shot, it'll reflect on the accuracy of the weapon, same as a sniper can take any rifle, do a little research on what's it's chambered in and be a great shot with it, it's pretty much all experience when concerning accuracy, the movie Shooter(just an example) showed this very well. I'd say the average maximum accurate range for the .338 lapua magnum would be from 1000-1400 yards, depending on the shooter and weather conditions.

With practice, and good instruction you may learn to disassymble and reassymble just about any hand held fire arm in a matter of a minute or 2.

It is a common practice in many Military Boot camps to train an individual to know his/her weapon so well that they are able to take a weapon apart and reassymble it while blind folded (to simulate night conditions) and to know when a part is missing. This is to train them to fix a problem with their weapon without giving their position away to enemy observers, or damaging their own night vision which takes almost 20 minutes to regain when lost. It also trains them to correct minor problems to their weapon as quickly as possible to insure all personnel are combat ready and in the fight when they are needed.

  • Breaking it down is easy stuff.

If it's dark the level of difficulty goes up.

If you don't make VERY F ing sure you have the parts in a safe place.....and you loose anything....you are just SOL.

Putting it together is also easy after some practice rounds.......now start at the 2nd sentence!

It's not hard at all with some practice. After a few dozen times you should be able to do it blindfolded.

Which one? I can do an M-16 with one hand, blindfolded, and suspended by my ankles in mere seconds but a Steyr AUG might have me spitting and cussing until I finally walk away muttering to myself.

The level of difficulty would be proportionate to the amount of training

With the proper training it isn't hard.

If you've never seen the gun before it can be tricky.

It isn't hard considering how many times you will have to do it. They will teach you everything you need to know.
