Why is Pot/weed what ever u want to call it illegal ?
why is pot illegal? first of its not habit forming, it does less damage to ur body then smokes and drinking and its no more of a "gate way drug" then smokes or drinking.
honestly speaking, the government could tax it like booze and smokes, make it so u have to be 19 to buy it and make it fallow the same laws a booze, that would :
1)make it so the gov would make money of it
2)actually keep young kids from getting it
3)lets the police focus on the REAL drugs
4) actually cut down on crime in general.
this being said, why do u guys think its not legal and probly never will be?

you can't really mass produce cigs like you can weed. you can grow several marijuana plants in your basement. booze, I guess you could make it.. but still, it's a "drug" and it impairs your actions worse than alcohol.

It is illegal for the same reason black people and gay people were (are) seen as wrong or bad to the white majority.
Cannabis use has produced a sub culture of people,
We have different music, different clothing and a different look on life than that of the average white man (or majority),
Ever so prejudice, the Marjory will always find some group of people, black, gay or otherwise, that is culturally different from them and will do what they can to discourage their lifestyle.
Just like the separate but equal laws, just like the anti-gay marriage or sex laws (yes they have made gay sex a crime in some states,) they have laws against the cannabis culture's main identifiable asset, pot.
Because we all know if the government really cared about the health, safety and well being of its people we wouldn't have guns, alcohol and tobacco at every Walmart and McDonald's on every street.

It is habit forming, but so is alcohol and regular smokes. I think it's too easy to brew your own beer or make your own alcohol. Since they can't stop that as easily as weed they control it by making it legal. If alcohol wasn't legal imagine the market opening up to sell yeast, barley, malt and sugar(grapes), etc.. Regular smokes doesn't effect behavior as much as weed. And for some it's paranoia and tunnel vision. Health wise, regular smokes are prolly more habit forming but doesn't have the same behavioral problems. Yes, those used to it are fine and act normal but were talking about an entire population. Cocaine was legal once till that got out of hand(I think). Alcohol is a problem as well with behavior but, again, it's too easy to make for them to control.
Anyway, I think the penalty is too harsh.. cause it's not any worse then the others health wise, just not socially accepted.

Yes well you're not asking a question you're making on argument on an important issue, and you're hoping that people are gonna get mad at you so then you can start an argument with them. Well I completely agree with you, so I'm not going to start an argument.
Except while it is not addicting, it is habit forming, just like alcohol. You can see most of the groups that try to legalize marijuana do it by comparing alcohol to marijuana and asking for an equal treatment of both, even though alcohol is presented as the much worse one (which it is by the way). That way they make themselves look sophisticated and reasonable, event though they're just stoners.

I'm sorry man, but the fact is that weed is a psychoactive drug, and can cause chemical imbalances in the brain.
You are right that nicotine (cigarettes) is far more addictive and destructive, but the tobacco industry is a multi billion dollar industry that can afford to buy off research groups or invent their own. Weed can't.
If it were up to me, the only drug i would permit would be alcohol, and there would be strict enforcement on drunken disturbance.

yeah never know it may be legal one day.
but i believe its not legal at the moment because there are indeed alot of harmful side effects to do with ya brain and that (there probly a posh cool way of saying it but brain and that will do lol)
it can make ya paranoid for an example, plus unlike normal smoking ya cant do alot of stuff while stoned, it clouds ya judgement, can you imagine what the roads would be like if every driver was stoned?
dont worry im not one of these activists who say its wrong and that i used to do it in my teens but the paranoid thing just got to me when i reached 18/19

Yeah I wondered the same thing for a LONG time til the one day I actually tried it.
Weed makes you hallucinate BADLY and impairs your judgement 100x worse than being drunk. You get totally out of touch with reality and the actions you do while you are that high can be dangerous. It even sends you to the hospital if you do too much at the same time. Cigarettes are legal because it doesn't impair your judgement or make you hallucinate, no matter how much you smoke in a day.

I agree with you, it should be legal.
Now let me state for the record that I do not partake but I personally believe that alcohol causes much more harm to the individual as well as society. How often have you heard of a family getting killed by a driver under the influence of marijuana? Think about that number compared to the number of deaths associated with alcohol.

i'm no longer against unlawful immigration, so no, i've got no longer. That mentioned, some individuals are against it for racist motives, and a few are actually not. i will luckily debate the fact, yet if fact learn that I certainly have heard all of it already. certainly, although, I certainly have not heard a unmarried non-racist argument against it that made any sense and became no longer consistent with lack of expertise or selfishness.... different than one. some human beings against unlawful immigration basically are against the "unlawful" section. it particularly is unlawful, and due to this they think of it particularly is incorrect. it particularly is a honest argument... yet- if it particularly is the only situation, then we could desire to consistently make it clean and easy what's had to pass into the rustic legally. at present fewer than 3% of people even understand what steps are necessary to alter right into a citizen, so how are you able to anticipate destructive immigrants who can not even have the money for a working laptop or pc to parent it out? some human beings additionally whinge that they do no longer communicate English, yet how lots of those human beings volunteer to coach them? I ensue to be a volunteer coach for audio gadget of different languages, and that i understand that maximum courses interior the rustic are laid low with a gross loss of volunteers to assist coach human beings to communicate English. besides, whether it particularly is barely the "unlawful" section that bugs you, then you definately ought to have supported the immigration bill that provided help for persons who had to alter into criminal. Did you? maximum persons did no longer. consistent with possibility you're between the persons who does not have a racist reason to be against unlawful immigration. i will supply you the earnings of the doubt, and that i take my hat off to you, then! yet what are you doing to restoration the situation, then? think of approximately it.

You do know even when though booze is illegal to minors they still manage to get their hands on it right? or did you forget your high school years? I sure didn't.
Its illegal because society says its illegal. Most people still vies drugs as a bad thing so it stays illegal.
