The breeder should provide you with the form when you buy the dog. No form? No AKC registration.

The parents of the dog need to be registered through AKC. You will need a registration form from the breeder to send to AKC to get your official paperwork.

Is your dog a purebred? If not, then he can't be registered.
If he is purebred. Do you have the registration form from the breeder? If so, just fill it out and send it in with the registration fee.
If you don't have the registration form then the only thing you can get is an ILP or PAL with the AKC. First you have to neuter your dog. Then you have to send in pictures along with signed statements that he is a purebred. You can get the exact information from AKC.org. All this does is allow you to compete with your dog in companion events such as obedience and agility. Not conformation and you cannot breed it. Hence the neutering.

contact the breeder or AKC if you have any questions.

You can't unless you have the breeders papers to send in with a fee. Without those, you are out of luck in registering your dog.
