(for those who are Chinese)Chinese cuisine question my grandfather was from ?
China (he's cantonese) the sweet and sour he use to make was not red sauce but dark sauce made with (she ow) sorry don't know how you would spell it (just the way it sounds to me )but in English it's soya sauce (never knew till I was in high school it was called soya sauce in English )lol
does anyone have the exact recipe I know it's easy as it is cornstarch/vinegar /soya sauce /sugar but I do not know the actual types of measurements.

You really have to ask your grandfather to be exact. The sweet and sour sauce is not the one I am used to. The one I am used to is red. The one I know is based on sugar (sweet), pineapple (sour), cornstarch (thickening). Here, I found a receipt from about.com which may work for you, I took the ketchup away from the original receipt because you want it to look dark:
* 1/3 cup white or rice vinegar (Note: rice vinegar gives better results, and dark vinegar will give a darker look)
* 4 tablespoons brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon soy sauce
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons water
