Pain under right shoulder blade?

I'm having a horrible pain under my right shoulder blade. My back has always hurt. It feels like i constantly need to pop this one spot by turning my neck and twisting my back. It's not even my spine that's popping, I don't think. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Update:

It's a sharp pain. It just feels like my back is stiff and locked up, but when I turn, my back pops, and it will feel okay for a few minutes. Then it starts to hurt again, and I do the same thing over and over.

Stick your shoulder blade out and have someone feel the area slowly under the right shoulder blade to see if they feel a lump. If they do ask them to massage the lump until you feel relief.

There are tendons and muscles that can get out of place or something happen to them and you will feel a lump there.

We had to call an ambulance for my husband as this happened to him and he was in terrible pain. The EMT's thought he was having a heart attack. After negative EKG and X-Ray while he was in a room in the ER I had him move to his side and I began to message the area under his shoulder where he said it hurt. I found the lump and called the doctor to show him and by massaging it the pain finally stopped and we went home with muscle relaxers. He only had to take the muscle relaxers about 3 times.

After that each time it happened I knew what to do to release the knot and stop the pain and after about a month he stopped having the problem. Apparently the massage of that area put whatever it was back in place and he never again had a problem with it.

Try it and see if it works. Also you could have a growth or lipoma in that area that is pressing on a nerve. A lipoma is a fluid filled lump that people can get in different areas of their body and they can be painful and press on nerves. Sometimes you can pop them by moving a certain way but they will fill right back up with fluid and the cycle starts over again. My son had a large one removed last year from his back on his shoulder blade. Have someone check the outside of your shoulder blade to see if they feel a lump there also.

You probably need to see your physician to check to see what the problem is in case it is something more serious.

    Hope this helps.

Best advice anyone can give you is to see a QUALIFIED DOCTOR. If self diagnosis were so simple medical school would be cheap and degrees would be handed out like flyers at a market. Its in you're best interest to see a doctor. Times are tough and it might bite into your pocket but at least you'll live to make another dollar!
