How do I perform Alchemy?!?

Alchemy is the art and science of discovering the hidden secrets of the natural structure, laws and functions of created things. Alchemy seeks to do this by applying a universal formula, which in fact is evolution in its essential sense, to objects in the three kingdoms, animal, vegetable and mineral, with the intention of revealing the causes of things and thereby understanding the spiritual nature underlying the outer forms of the universe.

Without doubt the all time best read for the novice is Frater Albertus' "The Alchemists Handbook".

Frater Albertus is one of the big names in modern alchemy, and this book of his starts right at the beginning and takes the novice through each successive step in the 'prima' (first stage of learning) or herbal work, in easy to understand language. Albertus also includes some notes on advanced work and on the general philosophy of alchemy.

Next in line after Albertus' handbook is Manifred Junius' "Plant Alchemy". Manifred is another well known and respected modern alchemist and his book on plant alchemy (the prima) is very detailed and has a slight Eastern twist to it.

After these two books we might mention "John Reid IIIs course on practical alchemy" found at Adam McLeans website. This is a complete instruction book on the herbal work with almost everything required in the way of knowledge by the novice.

The Gate of Alchemy:Is a fictional metaphysical construct integral to the plot of the anime/manga series Fullmetal Alchemist, referred to as the Doors of Truth in the manga or simply The Gate in the anime. The Gate/Doors is the source of all alchemic energy, often exemplified by the light of an alchemic transmutation. This fictional gate seems to not be any particular location but rather a dimensional rift to be entered; Dante stated during her confrontation with Hohenheim of Light that an entrance to the Gate exists in every human soul since birth. As people age, the Gate's presence within them is weakened. However, there are certain uses of alchemy that bring a person directly to the "Gate of Alchemy". Those who call upon the Gate, or are sacrificed to reach it, usually lose a portion of their body that is drawn within it by the creatures who inhabit within the Gate.

ASTRAL/SILVER CORDS:

Each of us possesses an energetic field, otherwise known as an aura, interfaced with and surrounding our physical body. Within the aura and body, we also have seven main charkas (energy centers). Alchemy was the science for the perfection of an alchemist's soul. Real alchemy is impossible today because people look at the world with a subject/object relationship; you, a human, and a table, are 2 completely different things. The knowing subject is one thing and the observed object is completely seperate from you.

Alchemists, however, saw things differently. They believed that by taking lead, the impurest form of metal, and turning it into gold, the purest form, that they, the alchemist, would go through the same process and perfect themself.

This involved three stages; the nigredo, the stripping of unnecessary parts; the albedo, the purification of the remaining parts; and the rubedo, the focusing of this absolute purity.

In short, you can't do it.

Alchemy was the predecessor of modern day chemistry. Essentially they were doing chemistry without understanding what was going on.

If it interests you, I suggest you take a chemistry class.

uh alchemy was something they did in the middle ages. they just mixed plants together and tried to turn lead into gold. the closest thing that's real is chemistry. go get a chemistry set with ur xmas money or something
