Will my internet be faster with a new wireless adapter that has 802.11n and 300mbps?
Right now I have an adapter running at 54mbps 802.11g and the download speed from my isp is about 2-3mbps. If i get a new adapter with speed at 300mbps and 802.11n (I have an 802.11n compatible router) will my internet be faster?

Not unless your using an ISP that offers 300mbps download speeds and not many do unless your on fiber.
If your on Cable your probably capping out at 10-15 mpbs.
run a speedtest at speedtest.net
I bet your not even coming close to capping out your wireless g. In fact the average person would be just fine on wireless b.
Wireless n is best used in a lan situation for gaming purposes, as you wont be using it's capabilities in an online situation. Dont waste your money.

No.
To be more exact, no if your wireless connection ACTUALLY runs at 54 Mbps and your internet connection ACTUALLY runs at 2-3 Mbps. In practise, as you increase the distance between your computer and your router the actual wireless connection speed will drop below 54 Mbps and at the edge of the range it could drop below 2-3 Mbps. If you look in Control Panel at Network Connections then open your wireless network connection it should tell you the wireless speed you actually have. Only if your actual wireless connection speed is slower than your actual internet connection speed would you stand to benefit from using a wireless n adaptor.
