Polar bears will be affected by climate change. The bear population has risen substantially in the last 40 years, but less sea ice will mean they have to adapt new hunting techniques and diets. The arctic ice is affected by massive volcanic activity on the sea floors, particulary in a rift stretching from Canada, going close to the north pole and ending at Norway/Finland. Once the ice succumbs to this additional heat, the bears will not have ice packs to hunt on. The question I ponder is, this cannot be the first time the earth has been without arctic ice, and yet the bears obviously survived thru those times, how did they do it? If they did it then, why is it more of a threat now? Are they no longer able to eat caribou? Marmot/lemming? Eskimo? Most bears are omnivores by necessity, can the polar bear browse the bushes? How much political mileage would be gained by exaggerating the cause and effect?

Nah, I think the only thing that would happen would be that the penguin mush would swirl in a clockwise direction as it went down their throats...
Could become the source for a modern day Godzilla kind of movie though... The Bears meet The Leopard Seals...(or is that the NFL?)

Polar bears and penguins do not get along together. Politically, they are poles apart.
