What countries are Syria politically allied with?

I know they are strongly allied with Lebanon and Egypt as well as strongly opposed to Israel and the US, but in the case of the Chechnya's struggle for independence, does Syria back Russia or Chechnya?

I think they are silent about this one because the syrian have been supported by the russian federation against the political attack of the US against it, but Chechnya is a muslim states in the russian federation and religiously the syrian must support the Chechnian for independence

The US-Syria relations are very complex.  Both hate al-qaeda and would love to see it destroyed.  Further, Syria supported the US in the first Gulf War against Iraq.

But, currently Syria is allied with Turkey (mostly due to the Kurd issue), Iran, and you could say Lebanon, Lybia, and somewhat Egypt and Jordan.

Did She ask for Ya'lls political opinions? No. I would think Syria would be strongly politically allied with Egypt, Lebanon and Iran, and more loosely affiliated with the former Soviet Union's Muslim States like Chechnya.

The US, we outsource some of our torture to them, and they keep their population supressed, and any hopes of democracy for the middle east at bay.
