Yep it's just a little creepy but not unusual. You can talk to him but if he doesn't know you were awake then you might want to leave it alone but look out for the future. If you choose to talk to him about it then do so. He needs to know that you don't like it. You were there and he could have woke you up and the both of you could have benefited from it. Don't be too harsh on him, I'm sure you're both young still and it could have a bad reaction for him and his future.

"so, what were you doing this morning?" "*answer*" "well, it kind of surprised me this morning, but not exactly in a good way. i think we should wait to do that kind of stuff, especially when im sleeping."

use "I" statements, NOT "you".

So use:

"I got quite a strange surprise this morning" INSTEAD OF "you scared me this morning."

just ask him not to do it again, and try not to overthink it or overreact.
