Wowww, can't believe all the posts lately bout' Steelhead and Salmon ~ anyone got an answer as to why;)?

Your Q caught me just as I am about to head out the door.

I'm headed over to my fishing partner's house.

We're going to sit in front of his fireplace in the basement, drinking (not necessarily in this order), Miller High Life, Apple Pucker, & BBB, (BlackBerry Brandy). I'm taking the oak fly tying table that he made for me (identical to his), as an X-mas present a long time ago. We'll sit by the fire, tying flies, drinking, telling stories of this past year, & making plans for next year.

He gave me one of the best Christmas's (that I've ever had), back in October. His youngest brother Bobby, had bought a used Ranger bass boat two years ago. Steve helped him get it up & running, & said it rides nice.

In September, Bob (hurt his back), gave the boat to Timmy, (the middle of the three brothers). He was going to part it out, & Steve said hey, if you're not going to fix up the boat, then why not give it to John. Next thing I know is Steve calling me to get my backside out to Timmy's house pronto.

It's a 1979, 18 ft long, & a 115 hp Johnson that is just screaming, "Put me in the WATER!!!

Ok, it has some dings, the topside has been repainted & looks just awful, don't know how many gauges work, no trolling motor, seats are badly weathered, windshields are both cracked, & the wiring looks like a ball of yarn that the cat has been playing with.

Must be going blind in my old age, but i haven't noticed that many! lol...actually i did see those regarding salmon roe etc. Also noticed the question starred by yourself regarding why steelhead bite- I didn't answer it as i had no proof of why they do! salmon yes; they bite on sight as they often feel threatened, as im sure your aware they don't feed whilst moving back up stream to spawn. As for steelhead i would imagine that to be the same- all i know is they are great fun to catch!

Its good to see an increase in salmon/steelhead questions-hopefully more people out there can get "hooked" onto catching them, and even more important the conservation issues with both species!

It seems to me that things happen in spurts. For example: I'm a service tech. for a propane co. If I work on one certain appliance, I'll work on a dozen right in a row. If I install a new Rinnai tankless water heater, I'll install a dozen. If I catch one fish, I'll catch a dozen...LOL(just threw that in). This may be one explanation ! Happy New Year
