As far as I know the only way to delete the song from the Ipod and keep it in Itunes is to go through your list of songs and make sure that the check mark box is unchecked by the song that you don't want transfered to your Ipod. I hope this answer helps your situation, thanks and have a great day.

yes, you do do it from itunes. you cant delete anything straight from your ipod.

    1) You edit it in the music tab in the upper left corner. so go to that.

    2) find the album that you dont want and right hand click it.

3)find 'delete' in the box, and click it.

4)it will bring up a box saying are you sure? click yes.

    5) if you want to just want delete one song, double click the album, once you get into the music tab.

6)do the same process for the song you dont want on step #2-4.

you have to delete the songs off you folder(that has all your music in it) that your itunes is connected to. Because everytime you connect to itune it sync with all the songs that you have in your library. So delete it first then connect your Ipod the song will no longer be there.

Right-click on the song and the option of deleting will come up.

the option of "remove" only comes up if youre trying to take off a song from a playlist.

wow, anyone can figure this out..

Just delete or uncheck the songs you don't want in your iTunes library. Plug your iPod in, let it sync & voila!
