Does anyone have an at home prenatal doppler? or listening device?

Just wondering how many people acutally bought one, how well did it work, what brand did you buy, where did you buy it, how much did it cost, etc. I am thinking about purchasing one and am wondering what one would be the best purchase for the price!

Thanks!

My boyfriend got me a "BebeSounds Prenatal Heart Listener" for Christmas. I think the brand name is Unisar. He got it at Wal-Mart. I'd been pricing them and they were running about $30. It says right on the package that you probably wouldn't be able to hear the heart beat until the early third trimester, but I can vaguely hear it and I'm only 23 weeks (5 1/2 months).

I do like it a lot, though, and have nothing negative to say about it.

    Good luck!

I have one of those Bebe heart listeners and I haven't been able to hear her heartbeat. I always hear to same noise but it isn't a heartbeat and I'm 36 weeks! I put the darn thing directly on her and couldn't hear her! I wouldn't recommend wasting your money.

Buy one of those noise recorders from build a bear and take it to your next appt!

My husband and I purchased the bebe sounds prenantal heartbeat listener for around twenty dollars from walmart. It pretty neat, except it didnt work that well until I was probably 5 months along with my last pregnancy, then you could actually hear it. We have a god old stethescope as well, which suprisingly works pretty well. Best of luck, and congrats.

I asked my doctor about it, and he said that they are pretty worthless. You see, it is hard for you to find the heartbeat until late in your pregnancy. The doctor (or nurse) can find it pretty easily early on because they know where to look. I know when I first got pregnant they had to press really hard just above my pelvic bone to find the heart beat. I didn't think it was worth it.

I have seen them at WalMart (with the baby monitors) and they cost about $40. There are such better things to put that money toward though.

    Good luck!

I bought one from walmart when i was pregnant with my daughter. It worked during the last 10 weeks or so I recorded her heart beat on my computer. It was maybe 15 i can't really remember it may have been less than that. it was bebe sounds or something for the brand but again not sure it was a couple years ago. I am going to purchase another one this time around too, I gave my other one to my sister.

The only thing I know about them is that they don't work very well until the last few weeks of your pregnancy.

    Good Luck.
