How can I convince my parents to let me get a guinea pig or hamster when they say no cuz we have a dog?

They don't think I'm responsible enough.

do research on it (how much it will cost, what's you'll need to buy, cage, food, ect.) ... to show your responsible,, and also take care of the dog without being asked.

good luck! i've always thought guinea pigs were cute! ;)

Well for a while i wanted a guinea and my parents wouldn't let me because our Scottie is a hunting dog and he would kill it. Take your dog out every day, feed it, and also do little things like keep your room clean and make sure you have a secure room for the hamster or guinea pig because they are mostly scared about the guinea or hamster getting eaten. Make sure that you have a ROOM. A room that your dog will not be allowed in. Your room isn't the best decision, because you will, out of experience, eventually want to let your dog in your bedroom and you will need to carry the guinea( i had one ) to another room and i dropped the cage cuz the guinea weighed a little over 20 pounds plus the cage weighed alot too. We spent three days looking and we finally found it , scared to death under my bed. My parents decided to give it away, because they were scared and they thought they couldnt trust me anymore. A laundry room or play room is best, make sure you put it in the bathtub when cleaning the cage because guineas cant climb worth a cra*. Im not sure about hamsters.

Just show your parents you can handle the dog and they will eventually trust you.

Well if you dont take care of the dog you have now, and they have to maintain it i understand why they wouldnt want you having a guinea pig, simply because itll be there burden not yours. If thats not the case, i dont see why they cant let you have one, maybe write them a cute letter saying that having another pet wouldnt be too much trouble.

    good luck :]

trust me stick with the dog guinea pigs are really annoying they never sleep lol and hamster tho there cute arnt really worth it

but if you really want one just take extra care of your dog for awhile like letting him out without being told and bathing him and feeding him also without being told just make sure you clean up after yourself prove to them for a week or two that you are responsible enough by doing these things and then bring up the new pet again

Prove to them that you are responsible but instead get a Rat!!!

Tell them it will be a great way to teach you the responsibility that they think you lack, also tell them that hamsters are really easy to take care of and that you can keep it in your room so that the dog and it wont have any problems with eachother. That will probably work.
