how can i get my driving license with out getting car insurance?

my car is in my dads name and i wont to get insurance from my dad.I live in hillsborough NC

    You don't need insurance to get your license. Actually, you will need your license before your dad can put you on his insurance. So get on it! And drive safe.

    I am quite sure that you cannot drive without having

    a) a license

    b) car insurace

    so basically you need both
