I think someone else in my house is using my toothbrush?

Okay I'm spending a lot of money on toothbrushes and I'm tired of it..

I'm very paranoid and every time I use my brush I smell it and check it over. this may sound really gross but a while back I used my brush and the minute I put it in my mouth I new something was wrong.. Ewwww.. sorry!! But every since then I've been paranoid. I hide my toothbrush all over my house. I have three teen son's and a husband I can't figure out who is using it. But I'm guessing it's my husband who has gum disease, I'm guessing this cause I saw blood on it once too.. The whole thing is gross.. I'm at a loss on what to do.. He says it's not him. I've even heard I can get gum disease from this happening. Ewww If it's him do you think he's doing it because I take so much pride in my teeth and wants me to have his problems.. Just confused and without a toothbrush tonight :(( Going to wallgreens first thing in the morning!

    I know, it is Eeeewwwwwwww!!

However, don't ruin your relationship over that.

    Don't get paranoid either.

Do one of the following :

    1. a) Take the toothbrush with you to work if you have your own desk at work

    b) Then bring it back home

    c) Don't leave it in a drawer or bag since germs will build up. You need to make sure the brush gets dried out properly.

    2. a) Buy a Sonicare or other power toothbrush with two tips.

    b) Keep one for yourself and give your husband one to use.

I would just hide my toothbrush well after I used it.

I put my toothbrush in the dishwasher using the sanitize cycle. I usually do this once a week. Get two toothbrushes and wash them every night with the dishes and then take them out of the dishwasher just before you use them. Most males will probably not bother to walk to the dishwasher just to steal your toothbrush because they are in a hurry to get done in the bathroom.

Take your toothbrush and leave it out. next time you suspect it has been used ask in a panicked way if anyone has used it. If they all say no sigh and say thats good because you now use that as your cleaning toothbrush and you were getting some limescale off the taps (or something of that nature) with it

If anyone reacts, you will have found the culprit.

Good luck, I hate the idea of someone using my toothbrush so I know how you feel

install a camera in ur bathroom or buy them all toothbrushes for New Year's, you shouldn't have to live like that in your own house

I would buy one of those travel tubes for toothbrushes and only take it in the bathroom when you use it...then hide it in your jewelery box or something. I can't imagine anyone going that far to look for it. Maybe you should call your dentist and make sure you can't get gum disease from your husband. But its not sanitary to use someone else's toothbrush. I can't imagine your husband wanting you to have horrible teeth but if he's that lame, hide it somewhere he'll never find it like in a sock or something. A clean one that is.

  • Errmmm wash them really good then hide them
