Do you think New Years Parties would be as much fun without booze?

How do you think people would party if it weren't for alcohol? Do you think its a necessary ingredient in most of their fun?

Some people feel they need alcohol in order to "loosen up".

I feel that some folks in addition to "loosening up" also tend to become obnoxious with alcohol. Furthermore, it does nothing for me as a host to have to worry about people imbibing too much at my party, and wondering how I will handle them if they get out of hand, and how I will accommodate them until I can safely get them home.

The best parties I have been to involve little to no alcohol, with people who were genuinely glad to be with the other people at the party.

Also the parties that had the most fun were ones where the activities caused laughter on their own merit, not by the masked laughs induced by alcohol.

I don't like to be a kill-joy or party pooper, but I think alcohol becomes too much a focus and the cost-benefit ratio is poor.

So bottom line, yes, I think New Year's Parties can be as much fun if not more fun, without booze.

I choose not to drink and I can tell you I really do have as much fun with out the alcohol, PLUS the bonus is no hangover in the morning so you can meet up again at say the local burger bar for breakfast and plan a day of fun.

Make it a beach party, if you live near a beach and have a silly prize for the best sandcastle. Or a Pool party for the most outrageous beach towel.

You never know you may be the first to not have the cops turn up to arrest most of your party!!!!!!

No, I personally don't like the alcohol. The people I spend time with like being with the "people" and don't need alcohol to enhance it.

Yes, with do have a drink or two. But if we do, we don't drive.

The most important part of New Year's is that there is a "chance" that the New Year will be better than the past. Unfortunately, I have friends and family who lost their jobs. Hoping the New Year will truly be a good one.

As for fun, if you have the right friends and family, you can do that always.

Luckily I have! We always have each other to lean on!

    Happy New Year1

I've party many a sober parties and Im able to have just as much if not more fun than when I drink. I chose when to and not to drink and I can honestly say FUN is what YOU make of it! Im choosing to ring in the new year sober this year, I work tomorrow and really have no need or want to ring it in drunk and sloppy! Yes I'll have a drink or two but that's about it!

But like I said, FUN IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT, unfortunately tooo many people rely on booze to make everything fun!

Of course not.Alcohol is the only thing that makes parties fun. There pin the tail on the donkey and other fun games. Also i serve non alcoholic margaritas and sparkling water at the parties i host.
