Have You Guys Ever Read The Quran Before?
Hi, I am a proud American/Christian who has been serving in Iraq for years.
Hi guys, I am very very convinced in this religion "Islam". When I was in my cabin in Iraq I was wondering so much why is Christianity, Judaism, and Islam so similar? So I went on the computer and looked it up. When I saw an Islamic Website I just figured that religion will go first. When I read what I saw I couldn't believe my eyes! Right there on the title it said "Why Is Christianity, Islam, Judaism so similar? I kept reading on.. Well I do not want to put to much detail in this but I have read that there actually all as one and Jesus is not God's son but he is a Prophet to spreed the word about Christianity. Abraham was also a Prophet and spread the word about Judaism. Muhammad was also a last most respected Prophet and was to spread the word about Islam. It said that the Holy Quran is the main book and will never get changed. It also said that the Old Bible and the Old Torah was as similar as the Quran before they changed it over Generation. Allah is an Arabic meaning of God who has the rights to people who are good in Heaven and People who are bad in Hell. I mean the Quran is right, we have changed the Bible for many years. Well im really convinced, please tell me what you think. Please I don't want racism.

Hello Peace in the Middle East
I am a revert from Christianity to Islam.
I understand how you feel as I was also touched by the sublime majestic beauty of the Qur'an, the simplicity of the Oneness of God message, and the continuity of the message from the original revelations of God and respect and honour given to the "biblical" Torah/Injil Prophets of God (on them be peace). Moreover, God has promised to preserve the Qur'an, but never gave such a promise to earlier scriptures. And it is not difficult to see that the original revelations were corrupted by man himself. And they introduced the pagan trinity concept at the Nicaean Council of 325 AD. The pagan trinity traces back to old Babylonia, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and India, and the like. Check out this table:
http://cfmin.wordpress.com/2007/09/25/ancient-baby...
Now in the Qur'an God says:
"O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God." [Quran 4:171] Muhammad Asad transl.
"They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them. " [Qur'an 5:73] Yusuf Ali transl.
Some Catholics are actually known to refer to Mary (pbuh) as "Mother of God" (eg: http://www.motherofgod.org/ ). And many other Christians do indeed say "Jesus is God"....astaghferullah.
In the Bible itself, God threatened those who corrupt scripture:
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. [KJ Bible Rev 22:18-19]
The men who corrupted scripture of God debar men from the way of God, because of the iniquity they have committed and their ultimate fate, and don't want to see favours of God on anyone. Jesus (pbuh) was a true worshiper of God and never said of himself as divine:
"Why do you call me good? Jesus answered. No one is good—except God alone" (Mark 10:18)
By making Jesus (pbuh) divine, those men who corrupted scripture in antiquity for modern day christians to follow (so they follow a corrupt message) wanted to take away from Jesus (pbuh) the knowledge of him having being one of the best examples of humanity (i.e NOT deity), along with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Qur'an really does justice to Jesus (pbuh) .....and also his dear mother Mary (pbuh) as there is an whole chapter devoted to dear Mary (pbuh) - Chapter 19. ....and that is very beautiful.
Though in fairness, some educated Christians do indeed take an open mind on the way Islam portrays Jesus and Mary (pbut) because it is not difficult if you have an open heart and mind to see that beauty that comes through the message in the Qur'an as they are portrayed and thus the divine origin of that message. Here is what a Catholic Priest had to say regarding the Qur'an on Mary (pbuh):
"As a Catholic priest it quite surprised me to find that it was the sacred words found in the Qur’an of Islam that provided me with what I was yearning to know about the Blessed Mary. As one who seeks to make the role of the Blessed Mary better known, the Qur’an brought home to me the gifts of this amazing creature. It is very beautiful to know that when any Muslim mentions Mary, he or she always refers to her as, ‘Our Lady Mary – May the peace of God be upon her.’ In this important book, Mary has been described as possessing ‘the perfection of human spiritual attainment’ and as being ‘amongst the first group of prophets to enter Paradise.’ She is ‘preferred above the women of all nations and all times and of those in Paradise.’ The book emphasizes that she is ‘a spiritual example for mankind.’" — Fr. Vernon Robertson, The Oratory of Our Lady and Saint Phillip, Louisville, Kentucky http://www.fonsvitae.com/marybless.html
God promised to preserve the Qur'an and it is now as it ever was, in its original form and language, preserved:
"Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!" [Qur'an 85:21-22]
"We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). " [Qur'an 15;9]
Muslims don't resort to "carrot and stick" trickery that you hear about regarding some missionaries, sadly:
http://www.livemint.com/articles/2008/09/04002155/...
We don't have missionaries because no one can be made to believe, it has to come from the heart:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. " Qur'an [2:256]
Truth upholds itself in its own right (above verse). But those that approach the Qur'an so as to slander it, would not recognise the Truth sadly because they have closed their heart down. There are some on Y!A like that sadly, that depend on using copy & paste rants from anti-Islamic websites. How sad. I feel sorry for those with closed hearts and minds. One can only invite with showing wisdom and beautiful preaching anyway [Qur'an 16:125]
There is only One God, the God who made us all. Arab Christians, Jews and Muslims, and other Muslims, of course, call Him Allah. In Hebrew He is Eloh http://www.jews-for-allah.org/Why-Believe-in-Allah... . In Aramaic: Alah (pronounced AaLaH http://www.peshitta.org/lexicon/ ). Arabic, Hebrew and Aramaic are sister languages so hence the similarity - same root origins.
May your heart find the peace and contentment it seeks. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala (God ...Glorious and Exalted is He) help you in your seeking, insha'Allah.

Its the most beautiful book i have ever read. No fabrication, no change. The most read book on the earth. The book which is learnt by billions of people. No other book is claimed to be so secured and lasting than Quran, cuz the sayings and the words of Almighty are forever. Its the human beings discretion to get some benefit from it or remain ignorant. Those cursing it, if carryout an unbiased study would be standing in the front row defending Quran.

The Quran says:
Allah, there is no god but Him, the Living, the Self-Sustaining. He has sent down the Book to you with truth, confirming what has there before it. And He sent down the Torah and the Gospel, previously, as guidance for mankind, and He has sent down the Furqan (the Criterion of judgment between right and wrong). (Surah Al 'Imran: 2-4)
God made Islam the true and complete religion:
The Qur'an 5:3, {. . . Today I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My favor upon you, and have approved for you Islam as religion. . .}

answer: then you weren't very versed in Christianity or Judaism before falling for Islam. The Torah was NOT changed. Which is more believable - the Torah which isn't allowed to be changed or something written down AFTER Mohammad died, revealed through epileptic fits, given to Mohammad by an angel that couldn't get his facts correct a thousand years later?
Mohammad couldn't get facts about Judaism or Christianity correct nor history - that means it wasn't the word of G-d. The history is faulty, the "science" is faulty, the knowledge of Judaism and Christianity is faulty.
The Koran isn't correct and is filled with racism. There is nothing peaceful in it unless you're a Muslim.

Hi, I'm a Muslim so my answer will be a bit biased lol =)
and it's very cool that you're serving in Iraq, although i don't support the war.
Basically, what Islam says is that all the Biblical prophets spread the word of God and told people to worship Him. It is not much different from the other two Abrahamic religions in relation with stories of the Bible and stories of the Qur'an. Jesus, Abraham, Moses, etc all had one message: worship the one and only Creator: God.
Now that you've been informed, you may want to do more research and read the Qur'an if you haven't already done so (i couldn't tell if you did from your question). Learn more about your faith and the Islamic faith and search for the truth in other religions as well.
The Qur'an is also right about many other things, not just changes in the Bible. You can check out this site for scientific miracles of the Qur'an, things which are written in a book 1400 years ago which were just recently discovered:
http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/
The Qur'an also has many prophecies which have been fulfilled as well. Look more into the religion. It's really very interesting.

Assalamu Alaikum,
Yes. Believe it or not I reverted to Islam from long walks of searching. Reading the Qur'an is what helped me to understand more about what Islam really is, not the silly propaganda spewed by those who would use any religion to use to get their own way.
The Bible IS missing many books, and the ones in there now have been tampered w/ to suit the desires of the "Apostles" preachings.
Muhammad (SAAW) was an amazing guy and the Qur'an and Hadiths will tell the tale. Examine it for yourself using logic and wisdom and go from there.
Inshallah you will find a path that suits you, and brings you to wisdom, and all that good "stuff".

yes i have and that's why i am a muslim. Just wanted to say that online sources are not the best means of getting information specially if you don't know what your'e searching for. I mean if you search anything on islam, the first few websites to pop up are anti islamic sites. People have stigmatized islam, the media has brainwashed them. By the time im done submitting this question i can bet you there would be a whole bunch of answers criticizing islam and mumbling what they saw on fox news....
In any case, may God guide you to the right path and bless you with inner peace...

I think ur a smart fellow. Please stay that way. Ignore all these other ppl on here. Everything u said is true.
If all the other religious books in the world were set ablaze, the only one in the world that can be re-written word-for- EXACT word, is the Qur'an. Why? Because it is the true book. Millions and Millions of Muslims world wide memorize the book in it's original Arabic language and can recite it back on request. It is no bigger than the New Testament ( I think it is 3/4s the size to be more precise) yet no one in recorded history had ever been reported to have memorized the New Testament.
The Qur'an was revealed in Arabic which it instantaneously rhymed and sentence seemed like poetry...like Arabic was meant to include Islam. The Qur'an was meant to be revealed in Arabic so it could be memorized. No doubt, Islam is the final call. It has never been changed, added on to, or reduced, and never will.
Hope to see you as a public representative for sensible, open-minded, educated people.

it is now believed by some that father abraham was made up to give a displaced people a national identity. if this is so, and I believe it is. this pulls the rug out from under the big three. so for your reading enjoyment please check this out. http://www.pbs.org/nova/bible

Racism? I smell something akin to taqia but I will answer as if this is a genuine question.
If the Bible is changed...then Muhammad can not be a prophet of God unless God verbally announced him.
How will you determine that Muhammad is a prophet?
All prophets are announced by God no man can announce himself.
Muhammad claims he is announced by the Bible...okay then the Bible has to be uncorrupted..else the announcement is not valid but could be corrupt.
So again how do you know Muhammad is a prophet of God?
Allah claims to be a prophet of the God of Abraham..the Quran says it confirms the Bible..If you are finding God through the Qu'ran than you are not getting any information that the BIble is corrupt through the Qu'ran..NOWHERE in the Qu'ran does it teach this..Muslims do teach this...This leads me to believe you re either speaking with Muslims or...you are a Muslim.. which means your question is deceitful.
But then again I will answer as if you are genuine.
I also have read the Qu'ran and I know it does nto call the Bible corrupt...again youa re NOT getting this from the Qu'ran.
Here is what the Quran says about the Bible.
Sura 2:40 O Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me.
41. And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is WITH YOU, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone
Confiming the revelation that which is WITH YOU.
Sura 5.68 - Say: O followers of the Book! you follow no good till you keep up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which is revealed to you from your Lord
Keep and follow the Torah an Injeel.
Is Muhammad a prophet of God and his Qu'ran the word of God?
According to the Qu'ran Muhammad is a prophet of God and meets with the angel Gabriel and receives revelation from him. The god Allah is supposed to be the God of Abraham.
Can any of this be true?
The God of Abraham has directed his people to test a spirit and a prophet of God to be sure they were not false prophets.
Did Muhammad test this spirit to be sure it was from God?
According to the Qu'ran Muhammad was instructed by Gabriel that if he had any doubts about this revelation he should speak with those who read previous scriptures.
This would surely mean that the scriptures from God agree with the Qu'ran at this time of Muhammad.
The Bible says they absolutely have to be in agreement with the word of God and the previous prophets of God.
Now let's see what Muhammad would have found had he did as instructed both by God and by this unproved spirit.
Deut.13: 1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
A prophet of God must be in agreement with the words of the prophets and the known word of God.
1John 2: 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Anyone who claims to be a prophet of God must agree Jesus is the Christ the Son of God who is our Savior.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist
Gal. 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
If an angel or a man preach a different gospel he is not of God.
We can see here that the supposed imposter spirit Gabriel contrary to what he siad was not a spirit from God and the revelation he was sharing was not in agreement with the word of God.
We can also see by these scriptures Muhammad was not in agreement with the previous word of God nor the prophets and could not be a prophet of God.
Should I continue?
What would be Islam's answer to such a glaring problem?
You and I both know the answer to this question.
Islam contradicts the Qu'ran and calls the word of God corrupt.
If this were true and it is impossible you have a myriad of problems.
1) How to test a prophet or a spirit with corrupt scriptures.
Not only Muhamamd could be a prophet but so could anyone in the world simply write yourself a book and call the word of God garbage.
2)The Qu'ran itself says the word of God can't be changed and that the Qu'ran is a continuation of these previous scriptures and advises Muhammad to check with those who read previous scriptures.
Muhamamd even according to the Qu'ran could not be a prophet of God nor the Qu'ran the word of God.
3) Could Allah be the God of Abraham as he claims?
Is Allah in agreement with the righteousness of God?
From the beginning of the Torah, God warns Adam to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil or he will surely die.
Satan, called the serpent, lies and tells Eve you will not surely die.
God does not weigh sin. The wages of sin is death from the beginning of the word of God to the end of his written word.
God could not change his mind and agree with Satan.
It is the reason man needs Jesus and the reason the Son became flesh.
What was the first lie Satan gave to man? You will not surely die. God is not a righteous God and you can make another deal
My Muslim friend Satan is again telling the original lie.
Sin does equal death there are no lessers sins and God does not weigh sin and you can't earn salvation.
Salvation is a free gift no man can require it from God.
God is a righteous God and he will not be joined to sin.
God has provided a way for his people to be rejoined to him for eternal life and this is through the Son who became flesh.
The Son became flesh because sin does equal death.
Look around you my friend all men sin and all men die.
The Son came to the world to overcome temptation as a man under law.
Jesus remained perfect even the Qu'ran says he is perfect.
Overcoming temptation, sin and death for all who accept the atonement he provides them.
Should I continue?
Thus far it should be obvious.
1) Muhamamd could not be a prophet of God
2) Allah could not be the righteous God of Abraham.
3) The Qu'ran could not be the true word of God.
Edit It seems the only ones who you have convinced are Muslims.
As to your calling yourself a Christian, that means you realize God is a righteous God. It means you have realized that you are not righteous and that you agree God can't be joined to sin...therfore you need a Savior. You have accepted Jesus
as atonement for your sin.
So as a Christian who belives God is righteous and you are not and you need a Savior to bring you to God through righteousness...Are you now telling me you have decided that you are righteous and can be joined to God through your own righteousness..or are you telling me you have decided God is not righteous and he will overlook your sin?
You can deceive some people...but can not deceive God.
Have you ever reasoned why you would attempt to lie for God who is a righteous God? Or are you following the serpent who is a liar?
Come to the true righteous God of Abraham where there is no need to lie because he is truth.
Edit to Tigras, geee, again..If you claim to have been a Christian then your claiming you accepted the atonement of Jesus Christ which you admit you did not...therefore never a Christain...saying your a ex- Christian is as misleading

Yes you are so right i agree with you and thank you for not bashing it like many other people do on here. What you say is on point! Keep on researching because thats the best way to find something out for yourself.
like Galileo said: "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
