A Teddy-bear Hamster nightmare Q (Please look his leg is blue I need help!)?
Hi, I have a teddy bear hamster male of which looks like he fought through the cage with some rats that were neighboring him while I was gone for the day and he got stuck. So now he has a deep open wound on his back leg to the bone and now his leg has turned blue. He is in a sterile cage with food + antibiotics and we clean his leg daily with hydrogen + antibiotics. Can you please tell us what do do to help his blue leg? Thanks, airbear

I know people say it's cruel when you can't take your pets to the vet but sometimes there is only so much you can do, especially if you don't have much money. My friends hamster went blue on his front paw because he was col and he went into a coma shortly afterwards. Get a hot water bottle and wrap it around your hamster-see if this helps. Apart from that i can't help, sorry!
Really, all you do is wait, if you can, bandage his leg up to take the pain off of himand make sure he has lovel comfortable bedding to rest on
Hope your ham is ok :(

Oh My Goodness!! The leg is blue probrably because no air is getting to it!Please take him to a vet ASAP. keep on cleaning it and mabye even bandage it with sterile tape(the ones you use on minor wounds at home) he must be in so much pain! let him rest and give plenty of fresh foods and water. It may be SERIOUSLY INFECTED!
