Was the pac 10 severely underrated this year?

if you are referring to the Big 10 as the lousy 10, I couldn't agree more! Only 1 Big 10 school has won their bowl game, and OSU will not beat Texas! Too many bowl games as it is, with almost half the division 1 schools getting in. Wisconsin and Minnesota both had terrible second halves of the season, but both get a pretty good bowl game...rediculous!

I don't think so. The class of the Pac 1 is, always has been and will be for the forseeable future; USC.

Who did Pac 1 teams beat in those 5 bowls?

Penn St - Nobody but Big 10 homers thinks the Big 10 isn't overrated

Ok St - Big 12 defensive frailty has been discussed and proven

Pitt - Not exactly a convincing victory

Miami - I will give this one to the Pac 1, a convincing win over a program slowly getting it's stuff together

BYU - Upset win over the third best team in another conference seemingly constituted to make one team look strong.

Compare this to the bowl opponents faced by Big 10, Big 12 and SEC opponents. The PAC 1 doesn't even have the post-season strength of schedule of a serious conference.

Yet in the Regular season Penn State beat Oregon State. Oregon State stayed way at the bottom all season, even as they were leading the Pac-10 by virtue of beating USC. So I don't think the Pac-10 was underrated. Yeah Oregon State beat Pitt in the Sun Bowl, but the wind was so bad it wasn't a real game. Not trying to say Oregon State had an advantage, I'm saying play the game in better conditions and we'll see which team wins.

Definitely a couple early injuries had a lot of conferences writing them off this year and then they beat 4 BCS top 25 teams in 5 bowl games, they definitely were underrated. I don't think anyone expected the Pac-10 to go undefeated in bowl games, I didn't and I attend a Pac-10 school.

I agree. Pac-10 is the only undefeated conference. I can't wait to hear the excuses offered by conferences such as the SEC when they explain their bowl losses. Utah crushed Alabama into next season.

Oh, and the Penn State > Oregon State > USC argument doesn't hold up now. If that were the case, Penn State should have beat USC. Unless one of them was a fluke?

Yup. 5-0 in bowls is great, but also ASU Sun Devils missed the bowls by 1 game. 6 teams almost made bowl. The Big Ten can't say that.

PAC TEN wasn't underrated.. what were the teams records??? not very good wow you won your bowl games.. and they all were against not very good comp.... the SEC and BIG 12 were still sooooo much better than the Pac Ten... no one said they Big Ten was good.. so why is everyone cryin about them?? and if Penn St sucks so much... why did they beat the hell outta Oregon St and Usc lost to Oregon St???

I think perhaps they were. 5-0 in bowls is pretty good.
