How to track international flights online for free?

My dad just left for pakistan i wanted to track down his flight. is there a way i can track online for free and see where the plan is how long would it take? ect just like we get to see in the plan??? plz give me all the information you have. I've tried many sites but it just wouldnt work. thanks

    go on the website for the airline and it should have flight status written on there and go from there..
