Can you help me out with this new flat panel television?

So, I got a Sony LCD flat screen today. I just kind of plugged stuff in where I thought it should go but it seems like the cable channels are more pixel-y and my video games (Gamecube) seem a tad more pixel-y than on my old tube set. Also, with my games, it seems like the characters don't react as fast when I control them as they did when I had the old t.v.

The new t.v. is 32" and the old was a 27" tube.

What should I do?

I heard that I should buy some sort of new cables to plug them in. I have the red, white, and yellow cable things for the Gamecube and VCR. And the cable box is just the screw thing.

Any thoughts?

You need to use either HDMI or component (red/green/blue) cables to get HD pic on the tv. Using yellow cable sends only 480p analog so you are losing all the hi def your items can display. And switch out the sd cable box for an HD box with your provider.

Check the output cable holes available from your things and see if they have the HDMI or component ability. If so, buy either of those type cable and it will look excellent.

Go to www.monoprice.com to get new cables, and don't spend more than $5 or $6 for each. (if you use component, get the five cable bundle as it will include the red/white audio cable in the bundle.)

I have a 47" Vizio LCD, and a Sylvania 19" LCD. I can notice the pixels more on both tv's. Thats just how HD Tv's are. The question you asked about "characters don't react as fast when I control them", that is just how HD TV's are, they have a short lag from the time it is input in to the tv, to the time it is showed on the screen. Thats just how it is.

get some HDMI cables and also check the settings on the tv...if it is a HD and 1080 or even 720 make sure it is set for that...but the best results will come from using HDMI cable and also if it has a built in tuner make sure you run the channel scan and if you don`t have a HD DVD player you should at least get an up converter dvd player for as little as $39.oo at wal mart.

television's do no longer upconvert video indicators.. you opt for a DVD participant or Blu-Ray which will upconvert previous DVD media. Even those upconverting instruments do no longer quite make a 480i sign a 1080p sign. even although they do improve the image high quality it is not 1080p. the form of image high quality would be very noticable in case you purchase a greater effective DVD/Blu-Ray participant.

Some Hi-def TV's play analog content (your stuff) worse than if you just had it hooked to a regular old tube set. So, you need to update your source to catch up with your TV. Digital Directv, PS3 or XBOX360 and a DVD player. (Preferably a upconvert DVD)
