What should I do about this Gamecube...?

So, I just bought a Sony Bravia LCD HDTV. I plugged my Gamecube in (red, white, yellow cords) and there is a slight, yet annoying lag and difference in the characters' response time.

Now, what can I do to fix this? With my old tube set I was really fast at aiming and shooting (Resident Evil 4) and the response time of the game was fast. Now it's just kind of a sloppy mess.

Can I get new cords to fix this or is it because my Gamecube is just outdated?

AND. One more question. Will a Wii be compatible with a new HDTV? Which new system is best for HDTV's?

I don't think there is anything you can do about the lag time, unfortunately. I hate when crap like that happens. The PS3 and Xbox 360 would be the best suited systems to HDTV's, because they were built with graphics that can only be fully appreciated in high-def. Though, I have a Wii, and yes, it works with HDTV's. Hope this helps :)
