    Midwife means "with woman." He's still a midwife because he assists women.

    He would still be called a midwife. Midwife means "with woman" and since he is "with the woman," lol he's the midwife! I learned this yesterday on tv.

    I hadn't really though about that, but i'm guessing still a midwife.

    I'm agreeing with the person who said a midwife means "with woman". I didn't realise that midwife meant that lol.

    A sissy? Umm, be happy he's wanting to get ahead in life and have an actual profession. When your new born child gets hung up in birthing a "male" midwife could very well save that life and deliver you your child!

    Pretty sure he is still refered to as a midwife is australia. but people will usually say "my midwife was male"

    still called a midwife. Midwifery as an occupation has nothing to do with gender of being male or female.
